Gray Prize winners of the recem ‘alent show at Jefferson Elementary were announced by principal Tommy Batson First place was awarded to Melvin Parker for his art work. He the grandson of Mrs. Parker of Manuelito Bobby Gruda, the son of Mr and Mrs. Richard Gruda, Pat is attie ton Drive, was named second grand prize winner for having the best solo. J. L. Rush played the piano and was named third grand prize winner. He is the son of Mr and Mrs. William Rush of Hogan Station. During the performances, held last week, new officers of the Parent and Teachers As Correction Made David Tsosie, representing Red Rock Community Day School at Siiprock Agency, was named first place winner in vocal singers at the recent Navajo Area Pow-Wow, held recently at Chuska Boarding School. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Tsosie of Red Rock. It was mistakenly re ported that he represented another school sociation were named. The president is Ray Munoz, with the vice presidency going to Jon Carney. Cathrine Smith is the recording secretary and Char lie Hale the treasurer. Volunteer mothers who have worked with the Strep throat clinic, sponsored by the PTA, were given a gold sprayed swab and tongue depressor. Batson said the clinic has nearly com batted the disease at his school. Life membership awards were presented to Sue Berger and Roberta Stauder. Past president Mary Ann Woodard was honored for her work dur ing the past year. The talent show, which fea tured vocal ensembles to ceramics, was presented by students of every grade level from Jefferson, with several group presentations.
