\N INTFKFSTI\(« TOWN.From Ft! t**s Southern Letters.I“Near Tampa is a new town called . Oldsmar, the property of it. E. Olds, i manufacturer of the “Reo” automo-[- bile. Of all the automobile companies,, * that manufacturing the “Reo” is most I j successful, next to the Henry Ford company. It is related on excellent authority that one man who invested $500 in “Reo” several years ago, now has $140,000 in stock, and has drawn * j out $70,000 in casii. As R. E. Olds,; controls the company, lie is a very . rich man ,and, becoming infatuated with Florida, as most visitors do, he bought 37,000 acres of land at the r head of old Tampa bay. He is now lt;building the town called Oldsmar, and f employs ninety white men and 125 u negroes. He has a bank, waterworks, ] 'electric lights, a community house, many residences, and will build a mil-_, lion dollar hotel on the water front. 11 i The land will be sold on time to small | farmers, in tracts of from ten to forty acres. A house will be built and fur- ° nished for every purchaser of land; J ; each farmer will also be furnished j with a mule, and financed until he ^ can become self-supporting. An expert has been employed to teach the * best methods of vegetable farming andpfruit culture. I mention the cases ofMrs. Rotter Palmer and ft E. Olds as18examples of what rich people are doing for Florida.” 'JThe REO is for sale by the White 1 ' Wav Carage Co.i e\
