Mayor Declares Holiday For Clean-Up Purposes And Designates Two Weeks For Beautifying The City And Improving Sanitary Conditions-Everybody BoostNext week Ephraim will cuter theclea'n-town contest with a determination to win a place among the leading towns in this year’s campaign. Last year the city was at a disadvantage becauseof the work that was being .done on the streets, bub these improvements will now make it possible |for the citizens to do more in theway of beautifying the city than they■could have done In former years. Thecity council has divided the city intofour districts for tho purpose of hand-■ ■ling the work in a* systematic manner. Two committees have been appointed in each district—one to have charge of the work on the streets, and the other to inspect yards and out-houses and to offer suggestions to property owners in regard to improv- ITTing the appearance and sanitary condition of their premises. The committees will work in conjunction with the local health officers, and the lab ter will co-operate with the state sanitary inspector.As;announced in the Mayor's proclamation, the campaign’ will begin next Monday, which has been designated i* holiday, Then the work will be continued with vigor for two w£®ks, *• the,end of which time it is anticipated that the citizens, will be so imbued with the clean-up spirit that they will work all summer withthe determination of winning for*Ephraim the high honor of being the must beautiful and most sanitary city inXJtah, IT OAK BE DONE; And the time to do most of the work ie■right now, when the removal of eachheap of rubbish means the destruction, ■of an incubator of flies—the messen-gerrof disease. Then, 'too, we willentertain many out-of-town visitorsduring the next few weeks. .Let’smake them sit up and take notice.Following are a few suggestions:-• Sweep your sidewalks every mom-lug. ■Clean up lawns, gutters, backyards■and alleys.Burn hr haul away all garbage and ,rub blah..
