As a part of the good roads work’ which is to be taken up in the imme diate future, D. K. B. Sellers has come forward with a plan which has its at tractive features. The mesa road to Tijeras canyon, Colonel Sellers con tends, is the best road in the county. It is almost a straight line from the university to the mouth of the can yon. With the expenditure of a few dollars it could be made practically straight. Colonel Sellers proposes to plow two or three furrows on either side of the road from the university to the mouth of the canyon, and then whitewash the furrows. This, he says, on sunshiny days would give two pure white bands across the mesa, marking the road as far as the eye can see. Colonel Sellers does not propose to whitewash the sides of the road after every rain, but his plan is to be put into effect during the irri gation congress, when one of the few attractive drives we have to offer to visitors will be across the mesa road.
