ENCOUNTERED 44 WILDCAT. Manager of an Arkansas Hustleg Club Masse Experience. Steve Virgilio, manager of the Buffalo Island and Chickasawha Hunting and Fish ing Club of Bertle and Chickasawhoa, Ark., who was in the city yesterday, had an ex citing encounter with a wild cat recently while hunting. He was on a lay for wild turkeys upon the club's preserves. Seated behind a big stump the sportsman awaited the approach of the wary birds. “Suddenly,”” said Mr. Virgilla, “a great ble gray thing zoomed up in front of my stump. It was a will cat—a fellow as large as a Newfoundland dog--and when I spied him he was eras | to epring. I steadied my nerves as best coat, and succeeded in landing him. We wronnly was a beauty, and I felt sorry for having to kit him be cause, you know, he was looking for tur keys the same as T was, and I suppose he thought one was feeding behind the stump where I ay At first Mr. Virgilio thought of sending the carcass to his friend, red Suhr, to te trounter, but he waited too long, and will now content himself with the skin of the wild cat made into a rug.
