' Joseph Kirkpatrick, about five miles southeast of Kendallville, was killed on Wednesday while handling a pair of young horses which were not well broken. While he was at the coltsheads attempting to untie them from a^ *hitching post, where he was trampled on and so severely injured that he died in thirty minutes.
