A young man named Oscar Carter, a barkeeper of' Monroe, while carelessly handling a pistol on Thursday of last week shot him self painfully in the thigh. The ball entered the limb near the groin and striking the bone ran downward along the bone and stopped just below the knee, just under the skin whence it was cut out bv I)r. W. S. R. Hardman.— Walton County Vidette.
