Riverdale Chamber Honors Two TeensTwo young people were chosen “Teens of the Month” by the teen committee of thv, Riverdale Chamber of Commerce and to the membership during a recent dinner meeting.Sharon Eileen Reitz, who will complete her high school course of study in just three years, and Karl Hermann Ackerrnann, who will begin studies in the fall at the University of Illinois College of Agriculture, will now be contenders for the “Teen of the Year” award.Sharon is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter A. Reitz, 8 East 137th street. She has been an honor student during grade school as well as at Thornton Township high school. Sharon has served as a volunteer nurse’s assistant at St. Francis hospital for more than twoyears. In her spare time she sews all her own clothing. She has had experience in earning her own money, working at a store that sells sewing items and also as a baby sitter. She hopes to begin study in nursing in the fall and has been accepted at Saint X- er college.Interested in the field of animal sciences, Karl, an honor roll student at Marian Catholic school and an Illinois state scholar, has been a golf caddy since he was 13 years old. He was declared honor caddy at Flossmoor Country club and is also a member of the golf team at Marian. His hobbies include coin collecting, playing ping pong and the electric organ.
