His car was dragged for 275 feet. The driver was taken to Silver CrossHospital in the Frankfort Community Chapel ambulance. He reportedly is suffering from back and chest injuries. His condition was described as serious.The driver is 45-year-old Harold J. Ne-veau, of 19404 S. Union St., Mokena. He was east bound on 191st St. and ran thru the west gate at the grade crossing, breaking it off The next instant the locomotive was carrying the car along the tracks.The motorist was wearing a seat belt, according to Police Chief Wayne Ryder, who covered the accident. He was not thrown out nor was it necessary for the Mokena fire department rescue squad to use any tools toremove him from the car.According to Chief Ryder, a witness stated that Neveau passed him up. Ncveau was ticketed twice. One charge is failure to reduce speed and causing an accident and the other charge is failure to obey a railroad signal and causing an accident.The engineer of the train was Frank Dixon, and the conductor, J.D. White, both residents of Mokena It left Joliet at 6:10 and Mokena about 6:25. No one on the train wasreported injured.of Harold J.
