Perry Policemen Get Diplomas at Close of TrainingMayor Richard B. Ray presents diplomas to Perry Police Chief B. E. Dennard and other officers at the end of a five-day police training course taught by Col. E. S. Burke of the State De- «partment of Public Safety. From right to left back of Chief Dennard are Sgt. Talmadge Padgett, Assistant Chief R. E. Shelnutt, Officers Vernon Pridgen, Charles Lewis, Ben Baker and Jim West. A total of 36 officers from the Perry area enrolled for the course and 32 received certifi- ( cates. Barbeccue supper last Friday night climaxed the training course. (Home Journal Photo).
