Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church was the setting for an early spring wedding Saturday, April 12, when in a nine o'clock ceremony, Miss Verlene Baumler became the bride of Ronald Maher. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ray Kipp, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Leo Maher, all of Lawler. The nuptial Mass was said by the pastor, the Rev. Fr. James F. Delay. Soloist was Paul Galligan, who was accompanied by Sister Mary Paschel, organist, as he sang, “Mother At Your Feet Is Kneeling,” “Ave Maria,” “Heart Of Jesus, Hear,” “On This Day O Beautiful Mother,” and “We Pledge Ourselves To Thee Dear Mother.” The ‘bride wore a chapel length gown of chantilly lace and tulle over satin, fashioned with a fitted lace bodice with a sequin em broidered sabrina neckline and long tapered sleeves. The bouf fant skirt of panels of lace down the back and front were accented with alternate tiers of lace and tulle down the sides. The finger tip veil of imported silk illusion was caught to a small lace hat lavishly embroidered with sequins and pearls. She wore tear-drop pearl earrings, a gift of the groom. On her white prayer book she carried a lavender orchid. Sharalee Baumler, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and was attired in a waltz length gown of embroidered net over taffeta in a soft shade of maize, fashioned with a sabrina neckline and short shirted sleeves. The full gathered skirt was accented with two front panels of embroidery. She carried lavender carnations, Shirley Kuennen, friend of the couple, and Esther Lusson. Wau coma, cousin of the bride, served as bridesmaids and wore identi cally styled gowns as that of the maid of honor, in a delicate lilac shade. They carried colonial bou quets of yellow carnations. Linda Lee Baumler, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid and wore a gown styled as the other attendants in maize shade. Her flowers were lavender carna tions. Becky Dowd, niece of the bride groom, was flower girl and wore a dress styled like the attendants, in light lilac. She carried yellow daisies. Richard Maher, twin brother of the groom, was best man, Eugene Baumler, brother of the bride, and Jack Weigel, friend of the couple, were groomsmen. Dale Schmitt, cousin of the bride was ring bear er. The men of the wedding party wore black tuxedoes. Alvin Winter and Wallace Knutson were ushers and Mass servers were Charles Murray and Paul Kuennen. Mr. Kipp chose for her daugh ter's marriage, a medium blue dress, complemented by a pink corsage. Mrs. Maher wore navy blue, also with pink corsage. At 12 o'clock, a dinner was served in the Legion hall to a guest list of 250 friends and rela tives. From 2 till 5 o'clock, a re ception was held in the hall. Gladys Hildahl, friend of the couple, was in charge of the guest book. In charge of the gifts were Mrs. Shirley Blazek, Mrs. William Hurd and Lu Ann Paulson. Table waitresses were Joanne Winter, Eileen Franzen, Colleen Baumler, Jeanette Hackman, Cla rene Franzen, Ladean Schmitt, Marilyn Franzen, Jeanette Winter, Geraldine Lynch, Mary Lou O’ Holbarn, Mary Eileen Cooney, Bonnie Berry, Doris Burke, Ar lene Schaufenbuel, Norma Kipp, Lorena Franzen, Mary Ann Kipp, Dianne Svendsen, Mary Elaine Murray, Margaret Mary Blazek and Ann Reissner. Mrs. Maher is a graduate of Lawler high school, class of 1955. Mr. Maher was graduated from New Hampton high school in 1954. He spent two years in the Army and was stationed in Ger many for 15 months. He has since been engaged in farming. After a brief wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Maher will be at home on a farm near Saude. ENTERTAIN FOR CONFIRMANT Mr. and Mrs. Herb Cutsforth entertained Sunday for their son, LeRoy, who was recently con firmed. Present were his sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hurley, Mary Ben Hurley, Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Throndson and Bonnie, Mr. and Mrs. William Cutsforth and Bobbie Kolthoff, the latter of New Hampton. Callers in the afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Willis Ransom and girls.
