Mrs. Fred Shaw, who was re ported last week to be recovering from a severe illness, was taken to the Roscoe hospital this week, following a relapse. The Rev. and Mrs. Lee Hollis and family were the Sunday din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hayes. Will Scott, a Church of Christ layman, of Sweetwater is to talk at the school house Sunday after noon at 3:30. Mrs. Roland Dunn and daugh ters, Arlene and Elsie, Mrs. Bar ney Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Kent, Grandmother Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Jake McCormick, and Doritha Mae Shaw visited Mrs. Fred Shaw in the Roscoe hospital over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Green, Dorothy Lee and Betty Jo, visited briefly in the Lee Walker home Saturday. Roland Dunn was elected trus tee of the Gannon school in the April 3 election. Holdover mem bers of the board are Barney Campbell, chairman, and Charley Dunn, secretary. Mr. and Mrs. Nurse Green and family have moved back to the community from Sweetwater. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Gilliland are moving to Fort Worth where he has obtained employment in a defense plan. Mrs. Ruby Neat has succeeded him as teacher in the Gannon school Mrs. Ruby Walker has been in this week but Wednesday was reported somewhat improved. Buck Scott visited the Jess Scotts Thursday. Clovis and Clifford Walker visited with Mrs. E. P. Neblett Saturday. A large crowd attended the party Thursday night which was given in the home of W. M. Hayes in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Gilliland. Mrs. Estell Blaylock has moved to Corpus Christi. Mr. Blaylock, went there several months ago to work. Her father, Roland Dunn, accompanied her. He returned home Saturday. _ Mrs. Jack Staton spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Walker. _ Jewell Walker visited Arlene Dunn Thursday afternoon.
