GENERAL PRESENTMENTStRecommendations of Grand Jury,April Term, 1920.We, the Grand Jurors drawn for the April term, 1920, make the following General Presentments:Through our various committees we have examined the County records and books of all the officers and they report them correctly kept so far as we have been able to determine. Schedules and reports are attached hereto. The body has examined the County pension rolls and find enrolled 60 confederate veterans and 61 widows.We recommend the reappointment of Mr. J. W. Curtis as Justice of the Peace of 1465th District and Jas. W. Elliott of the 1494th District. We also recolnmend the appointment of Mr. A. G. Edwards as Justice of the Peace in Hollonville District.We regret that on account of sickness in the family of Tax Collector J. A. Corley we cannot state here the amount of special taxes collected.We recommend that the County Commissioners establish at some point accessible to alt parts of the county at least 2 repair gangs, in order that they may be sent out on short notice, lo make the necessary repairs as they may arise, such as repairing bridges, filling up holes and wrash-outs.We wish to express our appreciation to his honor,. Judge W. E. H. Search, Jr., for the briefness of his charge and courteous consideration of the body, being especially considerate of the farmers, realizing their precarious condition on account of the lateness of the season and theimportance of their being at their work as soon as the weather permits.We also wish to express our thanks to our able Solicitor, Hon. E. M. Owen, for his kindness and assistance.We recommend that these presentments be published in the Pike County Journal and the Barnesville News-Gazette, and that they be paid Ten Dollars each for same.B.
