Wood there was no service at Christ Church on Sunday morn ing, but in the evening the service was conducted by Mr. C. Brusson assisted by Mr. K. M. Lewis. A large gas tractor for W. C. Fraser arrived on Monday and a deputation consisting of Messrs. J. Bedford, J. Houck, E. Reid, J. G. McConnell, D. Whyte, R. Call ard, A. Little, E. Tennyson, 17. Allshire and C McMarnehy in spected same on Tuesday morning. A meeting of the executive of “ion Methodist Church Sunday School was held at the church on Monday, April 5th. The resigna tion of the Superintendent, Mr. J. A. Neelands, was received and Mr. Harold Shier was appointed while Mr. Elmer Dixon was appointed Secretary in place of Mr. Harold Shier. The arrangements for the annual 24th of May children’s Picnic were also made. A serious accident befet Mr. and Mrs tarry Wyatt and their little boy last week at Decker, when the team Mr. Wyatt was driving took frgght at the noise made by some boys and ran away. They ran for a considerable distance, when the neck yoke came off and the tongue of the buggy ran into the ground, Mr. Wyatt was thrown out and considerably shaken up, Mrs. Wyatt was not hurt, but their little boy was caught in some way in the rig and his sex was broken. The doctor was summoned, but the leg is broken so high up that there will be considerable difficulty in getting it put right, so on Mon day accompanied by its mother and father it was taken to Brandon General Hospital for treatment. Mrs. John Stewart (Mrs. Wyatt's mother) has been with her since the accident. One of the highly respected citizens of Hamiota passed to her reward on Thursday 1st lnst. Just fifteen years ago Mr. and Mrs. McLaughlin came from Ontario to the west, and have lived in this neighborhood most of the time, but during the past five or six years have made their home in Hamiota. Mrs. McLaughlin was in her usual health on the day previous to her death, but an acute atack of pneumonia set in and in four hours she said good bye to this world. The suddenness of it all came as a shock to her many freeds but on second thought they said, better so than a linger ing illness. She leaves a husband 3 years of age and a son who re sides near Gladstone, Man. Mr. McLaughlin has gone to reside with his son, Mr. McLaughlin in his great sorrow and loss has the finere sympathy and love of t te community, and we trust the clas sy years of his life may be made happy and rich by the large hope and clear vision of the Homeland.
