EVERY ONE OF THEM WERE DELIGHTED WITH THOMAS VILLE AND THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY. (From Friday's Daily.) . The various trains going out of Thomasville yesterday afternoon, last night and this morning, car ried the delegates who have been 1/ Attendance upon the State Encamp ment of the Woodmen of the World in session here for the past three days. These dalegary came from all por tions of the State, from ‘Rabun’ 8 | Gap to Tybee's Light, and many of them had never visited the Wire grass section of Georgian before. ‘That they were favorably impressed with what they saw, was the opinion expressed by one’and all of them. Everybody in attendance had heard much of Thomasville and its attractiong’and so far as could be learned, nobody was disappointed. Conventions of this kind are a big advertisement for a town and all of them, in attendance, will tell what they saw here and their opinion will have much to do in giving other sec tions of the State an idea of the advantages of Thomasville and Thomas County. With fine weather all during their stay and the generous hospitality of citixens and the entertainment pro vided to interest and amuse them, there seemed nothing left undone; to make the meeting place of the 1913 Head Camp of Woodmen of the World a most successful and enjoyable occasion. While every member of the Tour ist City Camp No. 43, and many of the citizens besides did all in their power to make the meeting a auc teas from every standpoint, among the members of the local lodge who reserve special credit for their ef forts in contributing to the suc cess and pleasure of this Conven tion are Messrs. W. H. Burch, Jr., W. P. Grantham, A. W.,Stuart, B. W. Stone, B. F. Herring, Roscoe Luke, C. P. Bradshaw, Horace Bouchelle, H.,H. Vann, A. B. Milton, George, W. Derrick, and others. The use of the Opera House prov ed a great convenience to the meet ings, as the stage was large enough to put on the drill, and, the audi torium was commodious enough to seat all the delegates comfortably. WILL BE PLAYED WEDNESDAY BETWEEN EMPIRE CLUB AND THE HIGH SCHOOL—PITCHER WHO HAS BEEN SICK IS RE COVERING. There will be a game of baseball Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock between the Empire Staturs and the High School team. This game, it has been decided, will be played as a benefit game for McColl, the pitch er who reported about ten days ogo from South Carolina, and was taken sick upon his arrival, with erisipelas. For several days he was in a precarious condition, and it was necessary to get a trained nurse and a physician in almost constant at tendance. While the ball club is not responsible for players during the training season when they aren't, the expenses should be paid and it was deemed the proper thing to have this as a benefit game. ii The expenses will amount to sev enty-five dollars and It is hoped that a large crowd will go out on that day. The management here has been unable to hear from McColl's relatives in South Carolina. The twirler Io better today and his nurea will probably be dismissed tomorrow. New Players Arrive. The management has wired to Meyers, a pitcher In the Blue Grass League last year, to sign a contract. This player was recommended by Manager Kunkle, of Albany, who says he would make good without question and is a free agent. Lee, an outfielder of the Albany club, has been unconditionally re leased to Thomasville and that gen tleman is trying for one of the out- field positions. He is said to be a heavy hitter and a safe fielder, Price, the Montgomery first base man, has not yet reported, but is ex pected at once. In the event he does not report In a day or two, he will be wired not to come. The boys are practicing each day two hours in the morning and two in the afternoon. When it rains, as on Saturday, the whole team is given a half hour's work on the Y. M. C. A. basketball court, which i s ettenuous work and the best ex ercise known for wind, Manager Dudley, President Jemi son and Secretary Groover will at tend the meeting tomorrow in Way cross.
