Mono Lake Activity,(Bodie Miner, Cal.)W. E. Rector, one of the pioneers of theMono Lake oil fields, came in yesterday from Bridgeport, where he had been on legal business. Sir. Rector and associates, who consist of California, Goldfield and To* nop ah capitalists, are among the heavy „ holders of territory. Rigs have been ordered and are now en route for the company ground, and the actual work of drilling will begin as soon as the machinery canbe gotten on the ground for the railroads.Mr. Rector says the prospects are looking brighter every day, and that the great rusn will be on in a short time. He says thatthere is not the least doubt in his mind of the ultimate production of the field. Mr. Rector stated that a corps of surveyors from the Yosemite railway is now runninga line to get into this field by way of the minorets and Mammoth Pass, and that therailway company would make every effortto get the line in operation by fall. Mr.Rector further stated that parties who haverecently come into the fields were placing their locations on top of those already made, notwithstanding thousands of acres of good land still lay open for location. This practice is all that could possibly retard development, but it' was hoped that this would he satisfactorily settled.
