K. K’s contribution to the meetings. The letter was handed to Rev. C. P. Meeker, the evangelist, who read it to the congregation, who then, with deep feeling, expressed in behalf of himself and all others named in the communication their appreciation for the magnificent gift as well as the sentiment and felicitation expressed. The parties passing the contribution plates didn't notice who put the large envelope in the plate and it was first noticed when the plates were returned to the rostrumn. It proved a most agreeable and pleasant surprise for the good ministers and helpers in charge of the meeting, and it also surprised many in the big congregation as this was the first information many had that there was a local organization of the Klan in Water Valley. The big meetings will close next Sunday night. It has been one of the greatest revivals ever held- in Water Valley and a wonderful work has been accomplished. Upto Thursday afternoon there had been 62 conversions, and on that day at a short service held at the I. C. shops during the noon hour, seven strong men came out and stood a stand for Christ.Evangelist Meeker, and Harry Clarke singer, will return to their homes in Chicago at the close of the meetings, while Bro. George Schuler will go from here to Holly Springs where he will gonduct the music several days in a meeting in progress at that place.
