The proceeding is one of most unusual nature and decidedly novel and interesting in its details.John Litt'e was a soldier for the United States in the unpleasantness between Great Britain and the Uni-F ted States known as the war of 1812. . About 1SGO Mrs. John Little receivedI from the government a warrant to160 acres of land wherever she might choose from government land for the services of her husband in the war mentioned. Later she assigned this to Jacob Lee. a resident of this county prior to and during a portion of the civil war in 1S0.1-5.Jacob Lee was a teamster with the Eighth Indiana regiment in this war and was killed by guerrillas in Missouri in the sixties. He died intestate and by consent of his brothers and sisters and other relatives his estate- went to his father and mother. William and Margaret Lee. then residents of this county, where Jacob Leo had made his home. Through them this warrant, a part of the es-tatof their son. Jacob, was assigned to their son.
