Justice of the Peace of Petersburgh is Ordered to Produce-a Turkey.\County Judge Tierney, of Rensselaer county, has made an order that is quite embarrassing to Justice of the Peace Goodemote, of Petersburgh. The order calls for the production before the county judge of a turkey, which Otto Crandall was convicted of having stolen.Justice Goodemote sent Crandall to the Albany penitentiary- After the trial, the turkey, with all the seasonable fixings, graced the table of thejustice and. furnished a repast for a few of the judge’s intimates.Crandall’s case has been appealed to the County Court and he has* been ordered remanded back to the Troy jail as a witness in behalf of Milo and Alonzo Weeden, boys charged with having been accomplices of Crandall and whose trials are soon to be had.Attorney Cahill, of Hoosick Falls, counsel for the accused, demanded that the turkey, or corpus delicti, be produced for evidence at the trial,and the court made .the desired order. The absence of the turkey at the Weeden trials will be of material as* sistanee to the defense. In the meantime Justice Goodemote is in a pretty pickle.
