SOUTH OELPHI TICKET.The voters of the town of South Delphi held an interesting convention ia their school house on Monday evening. It was the largest convention the little villiage ever held and on the question of trustee forty-seven votes were cast. The convention was a very spirited one, the question of cement walks and other improvements being paramont. John A, Cartwright stood for improvements and was elected by a heavy majority over Alford Boothroyd who was the ‘•go alow’’ caudidate. After Mr. Cartwright’s election he made a few remarks iu which he sarcastically stated that he “was not in favor of paving the alleys of South Delphi with gold,” he said that he was however iu favor of building the road proposed up the hill where the steps now are and on the principle streets of placing cement walks.The remaiuder of the ticket was the same as uowr holding office:Clerk—John L. SiukesMarshal-New ton GistTreasurer-William H. Holmes.As South Delphians never nominate but oue ticket the candidates are pretty snre of au election.
