Bauxite Junior high track runners set three Bauxite school records last Friday in the Senator Relays at Joe T. Robinson. Bauxite finished third with 28 points behind Catholic High, who placed first, and Joe T. Robinson. Bauxite won the mile relay with a time of 3:51.2 for a new school record. The relay was run by Steve Allinson, David Allinson, Bob Ward, and Horace Kitchens. The same four also set a new school record in the 880-yard relay taking second with a time of 1:41, and Steve Allinson took first place in the long jump with a jump of 18’ '9 ’, also for a new school record. Others who placed for Bauxite are the 440-yard relay team who finished second with a time of 48.2, Bobby Ward, who took second in the long jump with a distance of 17'2”’, and Horace Kitchens placed second with a time of 15.3 in the 120-yard hurdles. Bauxite will run again on April 18 in Malvern.
