H. W. HEN NIGS, 90, RETIRED PAROCHIALSCHOOL TEACHER DIESRites WednesdayAt Grant ChurchHenry W. Ilennigs, 90, of Le-Mars, retired parochial school teacher, died Sunday at St. Joseph Mercy hospital, Sioux City, after 2Vz years of failing health.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran church in Grant township. Rev: Dennis Mueller will officiate and burial willbe in the church cemetery.Friends may call Tuesday evening at the Fisch funeral home, Remsen. A short prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.Pall bearers will be Lloyd Hcnnigs, Dale Hennigs, Robert Grosenheider, Ii e r m a n Kruse, Otto Ludwigs and Jack Ludwigs.Mr. Hennigs was born Aug. 15, 1871, at Hannover, Germany. He came to this country and Stcndal, Ind., at the age of 17. After graduation from Woodvillc, Ohio, college, he was a parochial school teacher 42 years.lie taught at Flanagan, 111., Oconto and Oshkosh, Wis., Holland, Ind., Hamilton, Ohio and Golden, 111., before coming to Grant township in 1911.His marriage to Marie Adele Schuette took place June 25, 1896, at Oconto, Wis. After Mr. Hennigs’ retirement in 1933, the couple moved to Le Mars. They resided in Los Angeles from 1946 to 1949, and then returned to Le Mars. After Mrs. Hennigs’ death in 1951, he resided with his children until the last illness.Surviving arc five sons and two daughters, Luther of Stoutland, Mo., Roland of Los Angeles, Norman and Armin, both of Chicago, Hilbert of Le-Mars, Mrs. J. V. (Adelc) Fisch of Remsen, and Mrs. F. W. Knoop of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.His wife and two daughters preceded him in death.
