WAS A NARROW ESCAPE, Negro Accused of Assault Threatened With Mob Law. Satria, Kas., April 11.—John Hud son, a negro, arrested for assault on Mrs. J. M. Frost, was taken from jail last night by a mob, a rope put around his neck and he was confronted with Mrs. Frost, who positively identified him as her assailant. ‘The mob then took him away and told him to prepare for death. He earnestly protested his inno cence and after a time sentiment turned in his favor to the extent of on protests against summary action, an after conciliatory addresses by the mayor and others he was returned to jai.
