Some of the boys are jokiug Captain Crossland about bis public improvements. The Captain built a neat, high fence of upright plank between his property and that adjoining, used as a tenement house. The proprietor of the latter cut a window through the fence, and built a room up against it. Then he took the rest of the fence for a rear wall, and built against it an addition to his house. So it seems that what the Captain regarded us a shutout, was really a very great kindness-Now the boys declare that Crossland is the only man in town having a window in his fence.
