A ShottingScrap**.Ciiavley Brooks (colored) was out with his little pop again; last night and this time he attempted to put daylight through Joe. MeTnggart. The affair occurred at Mr. James McTaggart's saloon about midnight. Brooks and youug MtTaggarfcgot into a dispute over some petty matter when the colored man and brother drew his gun and MeTaggart secured a hatchet* The former ran to the door but before departing shot at Ids antagonist without doing any damage, as far as is known. Brooks avoided the police and McTnggart has not shown up today. The latter’s handkerchief was found stained with blood and his friends are in-clined to the belief that he was slightly wounded. Brooks is the same chap that shot Is, Dear and who chased Bob Davisson around, with a loaded pop. He is utterly reckless when uriaer the influence of whisky and it. is about time that his case should receive attention. No arrests have* * t ■ • .% x ■ 4 'yet been made.
