Elaine Haile is the new editor of the Pony Express. She is a recent graduate of the University of California, River side, where she majored in history. Elaine lives in’ Redlands “with her parents, sister, Laura, and. dog. She came to California from Huntsville, Alabama, with her family,,in 1962. Besides writing, she enjoys reading ‘historical ,non-fiction, skiing, taking pictures. She sews her own clothes. This will be Elaine’s first job writing and editing a ‘professional newspaper. She feels that Norco is a friendly and unique place to start her career. So far she has photographed cows, horses, chickens and goats. She even covered her first rodeo. All of this is new to her but she’s enthusiastic about her job and about the people she’s met so far in Norco. Esther Marietta is the new ad vertising manager for the Pony Ex press. Esther, a’? year Corona resident, has ‘been with the Corona Independent for 6 years, as classified representative. Prior to that, she worked four years at the Santa Ana Register. She hails from the “home of the Westinghouse’, Turtle ‘Creek, Penn sylvania. Eleven years ago, Esther,her husband, Carl and three children, Felicia, James and Diana, came to California. Felicia, 11, is still at home. James and Diana are both married now. Esther is a member of the Cresta Verde Women’s Golf Assa. Besides playing golf, she also enjoys playing cards. She belongs to the First Congregational Church. ELAINE HAITE ESTHER MANIETTA JUNIOR OLYMPICS—Running the 50-yard dash was only one of 24 events held at Sierra Vista Elementary Reipelsana Junior Olympics last Friday. The Olympic games coincided with school’s “crazy dress” day, celebrating the beginning of spring vacation. Mr. Van Hall, a teacher at Sierra Vista and Art ‘Van Matre from Norco High School supervised and officiated the events. KIDNAP VICTIM—Eleanor Fahnholz, Riverview EI's secretary, was kidnapped by the Riverview Raiders, last Friday. The Raiders, PTA women, have raided the school three years in a row, to make the beginning of Norco’s Horse Week. The first two years, the women kidnapped Bob Steven son, principal, and took him to lunch. This year they left Stevenson tied up with a pot of cold beans and took his secretary instead of wielding fun-provoking bunch of hoodlums, brought Horse Week in with a bang, Tuesday.
