The preliminary hearing of Santii ago Rodriguez, his brother, N. G. Rod riguez and Mike Lomelin, arrested in connection with the murder of Joe Carrillo, who was stabbed to death in Chinee Alley here on the night of April 2, was scheduled to be held in Ventura this afternoon before Judge Shepherd. The three were arrested in Oxnard by Chief Murray as subjects in the case. They admitted having fought with Carrillo in Chinee Alley on the night of his murder, but deny stabbing him. The district attorney's office is in possession of considerable evidence and will endeavor to learn from the men who killed Carrillo, and if it was one of them, which one it was.
