jacob C. Best of Milwaukee died ,at Racine Monday after hovering be-j tween life and death since the Wednesday before when he was shot by William Dillon during an altercation over a bill which Best was trying to collect. Dillon is confined in Jail where he has steadfastly refused to make any statement regarding the shooting. Witnesses, however, have declared that they saw him shoot Best. The latter was 26 years old and was the only son of Jacob A. Best of Milwaukee. Since he completed his education at the University of Wisconsin several yearsago he has been associated with his father In the wholesale liquor firm of Jacob Best Co. Fie was well known among the younger element in Milwaukee and had a host of acquaintances throughout the state.
