The Thomasville Fans Getting In Shape For Business. Quite an enthusiastic meeting of ball players and ‘fans’? was held at the office of Mr. Theo Titus on Friday evening, at which the baseball prospects for the coming season was discussed at length. It was unanimously agreed that we must have a ball team—and a good one at that—this summer, and Mr. Theo Titus was elected temporary manager to get the club organized and on a good basis. The following players signified their willingness to play and out of the lot there will be no trouble to select a nine that will be able to hold its own with any of the amateur teams of South Georgia: Will Watt, Ardis McDougald, Artie Patten, Ben Witherington, Roy Dekle, Harry Linton, Horace Bouchelle, P. A. McIntosh, Pliny Heeth, Amos Harris, Ralph Chase, Tom Davenport, Archie Daven port, W. T. Doss, M. N. Hunger ford, Jno. Hopkins, Patsy Norton, Oscar Groover, Duncan Barbee, Clyde Neel and C.M. Smith. These boys are requested to meet at the grounds every after noon, or as often as possible, for practice, and Manager Titus hopes to see them all there regularly. The playing of these men in prac tice games will decide who are to compose the regular nine. The best players will, of course, be selected. We are glad to see the move ment taking shape and hope the boys will get in condition as speedily as possible to play ball. A good ball club is the life of a lown during the summer months. Very truly yours, T. H. Proctor.
