Arthur C. PophamArthur Clement Popham, 86, the oldest son of Stephen and Rosina Duckett Popham was born Jan. 19, 1884, on a farm near Dyersville in Delaware county.He died April 3 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Lindsay in Lamont, after a several months illness.His early life was spent in the Earlville - Manchester community. In the early 1900’s, the family moved to South Dakota and homesteaded on the Rosebud reservation. In 1905 they moved back (o Iowa and purchased the Campton farm in Delaware county.On Feb; 17, 1909, he was married to Olive Alice Weston and their entire married life was spent in and near Lamont. His wife died Oct. 20, 1958.He was a member of the First Baptist church where he had served as deacon for a number of years and up until his death. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, brother and a grandson. He is survived by his four children: Mrs. Martin (Erma) Davidson, Mrs. Carl (Alice)Neumann, Charles Popham and Mrs. John (Mildred) Lindsay, all of Lamont; his sister, Mrs. Clifton (Sadie) Cramer of Long Beach, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church on Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Lowell Dickinson officiating.Pallbearers were five grandsons and one great-grandson, Roger and Randall Popham, Edwin and Russell Neumann, Leon Lindsay and Don Pech II.Burial was at the Campton cemetery with arrangements by Kreus-sel - Fawcett Funeral home.
