Ground broken for new Masonic TempleDRUMMOND — A groundbreaking ceremony for a new Masonic Temple in Drummond, the third home of Ruby Lodge36 in its 77 year history, was last Saturday.The ceremony began with the offering of a prayer by Fred Holland and the reading by Clark Smith of a brief history of Ruby Lodge from the time of the Charter Oct. 4, 1888, and re-calling the moving of the lodge from Granite to Drummond in 1906.Charles ZoLtnlck, present worshipful master, dug the first shovel of dirt and after the ceremony, Chester Ahlin, began the digging of the basement which was completely finished by Sunday night.The Masonic Temple was built by John A. Feather man with the plans that the ground floor would be used for Milwaukee Railway offices, when 11 was thought they would at first build the shops here. Later the ground floor was converted into two apartments to he rented as living quarters. The building was purchased by the Lodge in 1923, and in 1947, the rear apartmentwas made into a dining room ajid kitchen.When Interstate Highway 90passed back of Drummond, it was necessary for the school to purchase the block which included the Masonic Temple. A lot for a new building was purchased on Broad Street where a building with a full basement for a dining area and kitchen is to be erected with most of the work done by members and friends of Ruby Lodge with Ben Bonnett as supervisor. The plans were drawn by Aden M. Arrington.Group meets to organizeLIVINGSTON - The Livingston Wrestling Club met in the Moose Hall to organize the dub and develop interest. Those wrestling were Mike McLees, Steve Wiltgen, Doug Thomson, Chipper Hoiness, Brownell Parks, Mike Mohr, Jan Zang, Bill Warden and Duane Jackson.
