Funeral services for Mrs. George (Emily) Henckel, 90, of Hitchcock were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Rev. Francis Connor officiating.Burial was in Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Emken-Lihton Mortuary, La Marque.The daughter of Henry and Pollyanna Tacquard, pioneer residents of the county, she was born July 28, 1872, on Hall’s Bayou and was the area’s oldest native pioneer citizen.* Her late husband,Gp^rge Henckel, also a pion-e^f'resident, was the originator of the produce business. i' •in Hitchcock.Mrs. Henckel died Saturday in the residence of a son, Cecil Henckel, in Hitchcock.Survivors include four sons, Lawrence, Cecil and Alfred, all of Hitchcock and George of Houston. Pallbearers will be H. D. Hepler, Hartley Palmer, Charles Colagna, M.L, Harbour, H. N. Meier, and Gordon.
