The Iowa State Teachers college track team won its first outdoor engagement of the year on its own oval yesterday afternoon. The Panther crew outpointed Deake, 80 2/3 - 38 1/3. Teachers won all but four track events, cem etely dominating all of the field performances. TC's Gerald Colin, a former state champion at West Waterloo, came within threee-fourths of an inch of breaking Johnny Revelle’s Teachers College relays record of 6 feet, 4 7/8 inches in the high jump. Colin climbed 4 feet, 4 1/8 inches. Panther Herb Henry tossed the discus a creditable 138 feet, 9 inches. Both teams, especially their relay squads, posted exceptionally good times for a season's outdoor opener. Mile run—1 Herrick (D); 2. Jefcick (D), 3 Morrison UT), 4355. Mile. relay—1.
