Joshua Nichols, 75, died Tuesday, April 8 in the Mercy hospital, Bur lington, following an illness of many months. Mr. Nichols, who was wide ly known in this community as a stone magon, would have reached his 76th birthday on April 28. Always an active man, he followed his trade throughout his life until i i health and advanced age forced his retire ment a few years ago. Mr. Nichols was born in Des Moin es county on April 28, 1871. On April 14, 1898 he married Anna Bell Simpson who died in 1919. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Gladys Kerr, Grant Nichols, and Mrs. Nina Duffy, all of Morning Sun; Mrs. Edna Heater, Pleasant Grove; Clifford; Wapetlo John, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Laura Mickey, Burlington; Lloyd, Pitts burg Kansas; Mrs. Norma Hinkley, Miami, Florida; Clark, in army ser vice overseas. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bond, Iowa Falls, Iowa; and Isabelle Donns, Burlington. The sitter is a twin of the deceased.
