final team would then be chosen for Country Week team.ARTIST MACDONALD.The third annual exhibition of the Australian Art Society is being held in Sydney just now; and the “Daily Guardian*’ critic, in reviewing the exhibits, says: One notices the same preponderance of landscape subjects that marks all our exhibitions; but there are, however, some good portraits, notably Mr. A. E. Macdonald's exhibit. His portrait of '‘Jean’* is a fine picture, and one of the best in the show. It is true in color, modelling, and tone, and finely drawn. A feature is made of the large blue silk collar of the lady's cloak. This passage is well rendered, and adds much to the artistic interest of the painting. By, the way.
