BAT FALLS TRIBUNEJAIL BREAKER THISCTTY NOW/*Officers Seek Rorasa; Hard Ridden Horse Found; Carl Skeie Is Captured.Suspicion that Mervin Romsa, Great Falla man arrested here a month ago on a charge of robbing: the Carlson store at Bole and who escaped from the Teton county jail at Cboteau Wednesday night, reached Great Fulls and wen,t into hiding Friday night was roused by the discovery of nn exhausted marc, saddled and bridled, near the we:,t ;5de viaduct early Saturday morning by O. E. Howard, n rancher living just' west of the city.The animal was completely spent., was covered with dried lather and to all oppearancc had been Iridden to the limit of its endurance over the heavy ronds. The marc was branded C-lazy K on the right shoulder and wan bay in color. The saddle was branded with a reversed K and a B on the flaps and was made by Furnstnow at Miles City. Late Saturday night no claimant of the animal had appeared and no information had beeu obtained as to its owner.Esatpad Choteau Jail.rndersberiff Melvin Rowe was informed of the finding of the animal bv Mr. Howard. Romsa escaped from the Chotcau jail with Carl Skeie by cutting their cell bars with saws passed in from the outside. Skeie was captured Friday afternoon in a shack near the Sun river by Deputy Sheriff William Requian of Teton county and Manager f’hurchill of the Floweree ranch and was returned to the Choteau^Skein’s capture confirmed the belief that be and Romsa stole a handcar from the Milwaukee railroad nfter escaping from the t'hotoim JhjI ana pumped it to Fairfield, where the two fuR^ive* separated. Sk«ie continued on foot until he found the shack on the Floweree ranch and no definite trace of Romr-a has been since obtained.Both Are 21.Skeie and Ilomsa are both 21 rears old and both are natives of Great Falla. They were nrre««ted March ft in a sou*h side shack nfter they had come under suspicion bemuse °f having nn abundance of provisions. Arrested with them were A. H. Parnell and William Reboot and after themerchandise found in the shack had been identified a* haring been atolen from the Carlson atore, the four were transferred to the Teton county jail. Bcbodt and Parnell were confined in a separata cell and it is not known that they had learned of their friends plan to escape.
