PICKINGS HMD THE conn HOUSEItems of Interest Picked Up Around the Temple of Justice by the Review.*The Board of Countv Commissioners were in session Motidav, Tues-•day and Wednesday and aside from allowing the usual number'of claimstheir time was devoted to hearing road petitions and passing upon new estimates for roads that have been held up on account of the previous estimates being entirely too low. Two of the road petitions filed with the commissioners, were from Perry and Jackson townships and are to be improved under the county unit law. The petitions call for a brick road 20 feet in width and begin at the Montgomery county line west of town and following the Dawson gravel road to the corporation line where it strikes Jefferson street. Then east on Jefferson street to Oak land street at the John Gery corner. Then south on Oakland to Clark, and on Clark to Jackson street in Old Town, turning on Jackson street at the Itosenberger corner. Then east to Manson. Both petitions are ovei the same route to Manson, but here they extend over entirely dif-ferent routes. The Davis road runs by Prairie Center, to the Thorntown pike and then on into Frankfort, while the Crull petition goes north from Manson to the first cross roads and then easj; to the Wallace stone road and on in to Frankfort. The question of deciding the course from Manson to Frankfort will rest with4the county commissioners, who according to the county unit law ate to view the proposed roads and decide which would be of the greatest public utility.
