r. r.Lyons, Ga., March 31, 1914.( Exhibit “A”Toombs County, Ordinary’s OfficeThe records of this office are in an awful condition, and a positive disgrace to the county. The record covering the administration of the Ordinary for county purposes remains in the same condition as left by the late Judge Gibbs. No effort has been made to complete the le-cord, doubtless owing to the death cf Jidge Wilkes as the Grand Jury at the August Term 1913 recommended that this work be done bv him. as well as all other which might be necessary to put the records and the of lice generally in good condition, and that he be compensated out of the county funds, regardles of the character of the work. The present incumbent informs me he was not aware of this, recommendation, otherwise hewould have proceeded to get the record complete.1 find from the record of Annual Returns Voluran A, that pages 41, 42, 43and 44 have been cut from the book. The Minutes for county purposes do not show the settlement made with Tax Collectors except for the years 1909 and .1910.The record of Annual Returns of Executors. Administrators and Guardians show no returns recorded in year 1912. J find there are Annual returns as far back as the the year 1911 now in the office which have not been recorded, and quite a number for the later years in the same condition. I also find the following have never made any returns whatever ; the date shown being the time they qualified: ■'1900 August 6 Thomas Harden, Admr.estate Bryant O. Harden.1906 August 7 A. A.
