No dogs in cemeteryEDMONDS — Don’t worry Edmonds, your cemetary isn’t going to the dogs after all.The cemetary board will not be discussing allowing pets to be buried at the cemetary during its meeting next week, according to Steve Simpson, parks director. Simpson, who oversees cemetary operations, said that the board did decide to allow visitors to bring dogs along on visits, but that no “pet cemetary” proposal was ever made.“The mention of dogs was just incidental to that discussion,” said Simpson. “It isn’t being considered, it wasn’t considered, it’s just an idea that was tossed out.The proposal to allow pet burials was reported in a recent issue of* *The Seattle Times, but Simpson said that the story’s claims that the board would consider the topic as an official agenda item are incorrect. “I doubt if you’ll ever see that here,” he said of the pet proposal. The cemetary, the resting place of many early Edmonds residents, was willed to the city by Lawrence Hubbard in 1982.FLOWE1THF
