A coroner's jury ruled Thurs day night that convicted murd erer Frank Puntigan committed suicide at Headingley Provin cial Jail March 1 by hanging himself with his own belt. ‘The jury's verdict absolved all jail’ personnel of any im proper conduct and commend ed the staff for their attempts to revive Puntigan after he was found hanging. Coroner Dr. I. O. Fryer said he was in complete agreement with the findings of the jury. Puntigan, 53, was under a sen tence of life following his con viction for noncapital murder in the death of his one was ing held at Headingley pend ing transfer to Stony Mountain Penitentiary.
