Last will and testament of Ed Walker was admitted to probate. The case of Bowman et al against James Warrick was dismissed. Minnie A. Barnes was appointed executrix of the Albert H. Barnes a State of Indiana vs. Wilber Lough was tried before a jury and defen dant acquitted. Charles D. Eversole, guardian of Nellie Baughman, filed final report and he discharged. Henry Bush, guardian of Ephraim Gentry, filed final report and resig nation and was discharged. John Hall of Lafayette Box Board Paper Co. dismissed on account of the death of the plaintiff. John Clem vs Arthur Barker dis missed, costs paid. Same as to Arthur Gross vs Clarence Schnepp. Henry Bush, guardian of Ephriam Gentry, against Sarah Bloom was compromised and dissmissed. Isaac Wolf, guardian of Esther E. Wolf and Everett Wolf, filed final report as to Esther E. Wolf. George W. Andrews, guardian of George R. Andrews, filed current report, trust continued two years. Nancy E. Kirkpatrick, administra trix of the John R. Kirkpatrick es tate, filed report of sale of personal property for $632.05. State of Sylvester Johnson and Homer Vanatta; jury declared guilty and assessed $1. Vanatta ac quitted. Sarah E. Wolf, executrix of the Daniel I. Wolf estate, filed final re port. Set for hearing on first day of June term. Tracht ditch petition referred to the ditch commissioners. David E. Allbaugh, James Zartman and G. M. Binney were appointed viewers. Charles E. Baker, administrator of Margaret O’brien estate, granted authority to sell real estate consist ing of two lots in Camden. Martin M. Baum, guardian of James Pickering, filed current re port and trust was continued two years. Same as to Sarah C. Mitchel guardian of Martha E. Franklin. Gus A. Hall and John H. Cart wright, commissioners appointed to sell real estate comprising 27.55 acres in Democrat township, be longing to the William Baker estate, filed report of sale amounting to $1,100. $4.00 to her husband and the residue of her estate be divided equally be tween her children, Mrs. Minnie M. Wright, Charles S. Lenon and Jay G. Lenon. She desired that her real estate be rented and the pro ceedes thereof be appointed to taxes and improvements until her young est child becomes of age. William H. Wright is nominated as executor. Judge Larry of Logansport, occcu pied the bench during the trial of the case of McMindes against Van Atta, Judge Wason being disquali fied on account of having formerly been employed as attorney for the plaintiff. Last will and testament of Augus tus Pearson admitted to probate the will provides that each of the three children receive 40 acres in fee simple, widow bequethed all of per sonal property and life interest in 420 acres. C. W. Jones is named as executor. Death of Harold Koontz. Lafayette Daily Courier:— ‘Although the most recently discov ered scientific methods were employ ed to save his life, Harold Koontz, the five year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley KoontzJ of 1712 Meharry 5 St., died ‘at 12:50 o'clock Saturday morn ing from meningitis. The boy had been sick for several weeks, and through the efforts of Dr. Fred Koontz of Louisville, an uncle of the deceased, Dr. J. A. Flexner, brother of Dr. Simon Flexner, director of the Rockefeller Institute for Reserch was sent here from Baltimore. Dr. Flexner injected the new anti-men ingitis serum into the spinal cord of the sick boy. The serum has only recently been discovered and this was the first time it was used on a patient in this state. Dr. Flexner stated when he examined the boy he had not been called soon enough, and when he administered the heroic treatment he had but little hope that the boy would live. During the ‘month of March Dr. Flexner says he treated fifteen patients for meningi tis and twelve were cured.”’ Harold Eugene Koontz was born in Rockfield on the 16th day of March, 1903, and died at Lafayette April 4th 1908, age 5 years and 15 days. The remains were brought to Rockfield Sunday morning where the funeral services were held in the afternoon, at the Presbyterian church, Rev. Breckenridge officiating. Inter ce was made in the Camden cem etery. , Nina Kennedy is seriously ill at her home west of Burrows. Ira Grant has moved into the Wallace property recently vacated by Burton Appleton. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bloom were Sunday guests of friends in Idaville. The will of Margaret Lenon was!Mrs. Bloom will visit this week in probated Thursday. She bequeths that vicinity.
