Spark* man, Capt Gilmore, Capt Hamby and Capt Dear in the pot and they saroly did justice to all that was before them—not to mention Capt Henry’s famous ‘stone wall.’The Marion’s Men of Winyah passed a very creditable inspection although they did , not have out a great'number of members The company was drilled by Capt McDonald aud Lieutenants Pyatt and Johnson. Lieutenant M. S.Beliune was absent on account of sickness. They had three officers and 28 men iu ranks. There was an unusually large number of visitors aud ladies present, aad everyone seemed to enjoy them-1 selves thoroughly. After the inspection was over there were six or seven horse races run, which was witnessed by a large number of ladies and geutlemen.The inspecting officers say that our troops will compare favorably with auy iu the State.
