The Carrington Iudyendent throws this light upon an assault and battery case that occurred before Justice Eager this week: ''Edward McKinnon ofGlentield, was over last Saturday and gave an account of an assault made upon him by Edwin Keans, who has for some time not been exactly in bis right mind. He made an attack on Mr. McKinnon’s sou with a club. McKinnon run in and tried to stop Beans when the latter turned and- struck him a wicked blow across the back. This ended the tight. The row took plaoe in Stutsman county. McKinnon went to Jamestown and mud* complaint against Beans for assault and battery. Officers were up yesterday and took Beans to Jamestown for trial.”
