22THESTAR-TRIBUNE: Thursday, April8,1976Rhonda Carpenter, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bates of Harvey, represented Harvey in the Miss Illinois pageant, a preliminary' to the Miss Universe pageant, March 12-14 in St. Charles, 111. Miss Carpenter is a student at Taylor Institute, Chicago, enrolled in secretarial studies. She designs and makes all her own clothes.
