BATESVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dwenger and their nine children are homeless as the result of a fire Monday night that destroyed their residence at Hamburg, about five miles northwest of Batesville. The two-story concrete block and frame residence was de stroyed, according to Batesville Fire Chief Herman Artmire. One of the children, starting upstairs to bed, discovered flames in the upper story. Batesville firemen said the en tire upper portion of the build ing was in flames when they ar rived. Oldenburg and Clarksburg fire departments sent water trucks to the Batesville unit, which was on the scene for about six hours. The fire was discovered about 8 p.m. Cause of the fire is being in vestigated. Family members said no one had been upstairs since Monday morning.
