TOWN FATHERS — This is a photo taken at an alder men’s meeting in Abilene early this century. The city of fice then was on St. 1st St., opposite the present Cedar un derpass. Seated, from left to right, are E. H. Boone, alder man, who had a hardware store where Kress now is loca ed. J. P. Wooten, alderman, who had a motor company then at N. 2nd and Cedar; Olan Shackelford, alderman, who had a sheet metal works on S. 1st; Mr. Kirk, office clerk; Mayor E. N. Kirby; and J. N.
