Roe, 74, beloved native and pioneer of Beaverhead county, who passed away suddenly Thursday at Seattle, Wn., will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from St. James Episcopal church with the Rev. Arthur Lord officiating. Interment will be made in the family plot at Mountain View cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside.Mr. Roe had just returned from a visit to Phoenix, Ariz., and was enjoying good health when suddenly stricken.Mr. Roe was born at Bannack, Montana’s territorial capital, Jan. 10, 1881. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Roe.His father came to Bannack in 1862 during the gold rush and engaged in business, later moving to Dillon where he was one of the founders of the State' Bank and Trust Co.When Mr. Roe was married to Miss Effie Tong of Butte Feb. 9, 1904, the young couple moved to a ranch near Red Rock belonging to his uncle, the late Joseph Shin-berger, which he operated for many years. In recent years he spent most of his time in Arizona, California and Seattle, owning a home in .the latter- place.Eddie^ and Effie, as Mr. and Mrs. Rob were known to a host of friends, were greatly beloved by ’all who knew them and news of Mr. Roe’s death was received with grief at the passing of a wonderful friend.Mr. Roe was a member of Bagdad Temple of the Shrine and other Masonic bodies, of the Elks the Episcopal church, and the Jesters.Survivors include, beside his wife, a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Roe of Armstead; sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Forsythe of Monida, Mr. and Mrs. Moore McKinley, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie C. Wilkins and Mrs. George Moore, all of Seattle and nine grandchildren, who are Mrs. Ed Bray and Moore McKinley, J r., Milton Smith, Linda, Susan and Sharon Wilkins, all of Seattle, Judith, Effie and Andrew Forsythe of Monida.
