Clarence William Ford, of Mont real, indicted by the regular March grand jury for defacing real property, has been discharged from custody by Judge Clay S Crouse, after the new grand jury failed to indict him last Monday. It was Ford's plea in abatement to the indictment, filed by Attor ney C. R. Harless, which led to the quashing of all the indictments of the regular grand jury and the summoning of the new grand jury last week. In his motion for Ford's dis charge, Harless told the court, “I was definitely sure there was no evidence to convict him “on.” Judge Crouse replied, “The State will not resist the motion’ and thereafter ordered Ford's dis charge. The case of Charles Rutherford was continued on the defendant's motion. A case against Clarence Randolph was continued on the State’s motion, Trial Docket The trial docket was set for four days and included charges of malicious wounding, burglary, grand larceny, maiming, armed robbery, and assault and battery. The trials were set as follows: Monday, April 10—James Dixon, grand larceny; William Sweeney and John Sweeney, maiming; Wil liam Morris, driving, drunk; Ho ward Bradley, Edgar Cook, Den ver Cook, and Griff Jarrell, Jr., assault and battery; William Slaughter, burglary and grand larceny Tuesday, April 11—Aubrey Hol stein, breaking and entering; Roy Meadows, burglary and grand larceny; Louis Moncada, malicious wounding; Charles Rawlings and Howard Williams, malicious wounding and armed robbery. Wednesday, April 12—George Brewer, drunk in public place; Joe Waddell, grand larceny; Bob Lilly and Tom Neal, maiming and armed robbery; and Joe Waddell, malicious killing of animal valued at more than $20. Thursday, April 13—H. V. Fox, read law violation; Heskell Mc Cullie, bastard; Gurney Grant Wilkins, improper license plates; and Nannie Penn, maiming.
