Los Angeles, Cal. April .— lbuquerque soon is going to be a place upon Uncle Sam's aerial map, according to announce ment today by the Aero Club of Southern California. An of ficial test of the air mail route between this city and the New Mexican metropolis, as author ized by the post office depart ment at Washington, will be undertaken just as soon as preparations for the flight can be made. One of the things needed is suitable planes. The foregoing information, as given out by the club, is based upon advices received by it from Representative in Congress Randall, from one of the South rn California districts. Otto G. Vraneger, second assistant postmaster general, according to Mr. Randall's telegram, will imediately notify Postmaster Brown here to co-operate with the Aero club in making the Los Angeles-Albuquerque flight a success. No date for the flight yet has been set, but it is expected the event will be within three weeks, at the lat est, and that perhaps as many as three planes will participate. A successful southern flight east via the southern route— i. e. Albuquerque, with reports to this effect by the army fly ers at Rockwell Field, San Diego, may bring about re routing via Albuquerque of the air lane that already is in the appropriation bill before con gress. This measure provides for San Francisco as the west ern gaerial mail terminus. A test flight attempted last week via Reno from San Francisco failed because of unfavorable Weather conditions.
