File for State Senate.. St. Paul.—Three new candidates for the state senate filed with the secre tary of state last week. W. W. Smith of Sleepy Eye, a banker and member of the republican state com mittee, filed to succeed Frank Clague in the Brown-Redwood district. Sen ator Edward Rustad of Wheaton filed to succeed himself in the forty-eighth district, which included Grant, Stev ens, Traverse and Big Stone counties. Alfred A. Haagenson of Barnesville, filed in the forty-ninth district, in cluding Clay and Wilkin counties.
